Tastee Donuts in Metairie

One of the best local donut/bakery/coffeeshop. I might be biased, since I've been having them since I was a kid. But there's nothing better than a warm buttermilk drop and a cup of coffee. This is an oldschool establishment and their donuts and pastries are perfection. Also, is there anything better than a tastee burger? Be sure to order an extra half dozen to pick on while you bring them home.

Love this place, but the service is AWFUL. They serve the drive through 10x faster than the inside patrons and ignore them. I’ve Been in line 25 minutes and they served 10 cars before me. Ridiculous.

Might be the best burgers but went there to get 6 castles drinks and donuts but told us no special orders! Seriously 2 people in the store. So I told the ole bag to shove it. And the next time I find the door locked during business hours I will report them to the fire Marshall. It is against the law.

The staff is friendly, the food is always fresh, the service is quick, the location is convenient right on the corner of West Esplanade and Transcontinental. Great little place.

I tried the iced coffee and it was amazing

Once a year I get to visit Louisiana for good eats: Tried their cinnamon roll and kastleburger was not disappponted

Food is decent, however with the mummies working behind the counter this is not the location to come to if you’re expecting to order then receive your food in less than 10 minutes.

My husband had an egg biscuit & I had an apple fritter with coffee. Their coffee is good & the pastries/donuts are as expected. It is convenient with fast service.

Assortment of pastries as well as burgers. Quaint place for coffee and conversation, reading newspaper or book. Just a feel of friendliness.

Best castle burgers I've ever had. They we're so hot and delicious. I even received a very small surprise side of fries with my order (just a few but it's the extra effort that counts). Friendly service. Will definitely be back to visit this location.

A bit pricey, but good selection. At 5 p.m., some of the cake donuts were getting a bit stiff, but they still taste good.

The only reason I give 4 stars because twice I had horrible donuts so 2 out 60 is not bad because they twist donuts taste delicious like the old school taste I use to get in the morning before school in the 80s if you want the old school Mc kenzie King cakes and cinnamon rolls and buttermilk drops this is the place for it but other than that they customer service is great

Awesome that they keep the local flavors of Makenzie bakery alive. The apple fritter is great too.

My Happy Place. Donuts and Pastries are fresh and delicious Breakfast and lunch plates are Good and the prices are easy on the wallet.

This place has been here forever. I don't remember not seeing a Tastee Donut shop since I was a kid. Delicious donuts & all kinds of French pastries. By 9:00 PM, everything is gone. And they have breakfast pastries all day. Plus they now have opened a small restaurant nextdoor which connects to the pastry shop.

Love the Castle burgers service is good also

I come here whenever I have to take my nieces to school. They order the breakfast platter and donuts and it's always fast. We are able to get it and finish within 20 minutes. Sometimes the line is long. They have a lot of families from the same school that go there and also a lot of the same elderly/retired people meet up there every morning. They're always really fast and friendly though. My nieces love it.

Not as fresh as I would have liked but still good.

This is the place you go when you want to be around great food and great people. You see the same people working behind the counter every time. The food is always great. The friendly staff always remembers you and wishes you a good day. I can't say enough good things about this place. One time the owner, Mrs. Linda, was there and was super sweet and caring to my son. I would give this place 6 stars, if I could.

The donuts and biscuit deserved 5 stars, great tasting food but I’m giving 3 stars because one of the ladies who was working there this morning was so rude it was shocking! She was rude to the customers and visibly rude to her coworkers. So much so that I honestly wanted to just walk out but I had already paid. I hope she changes her attitude or leaves because she will turn customers away from a great donut place.

Ordered the glaze donuts and very disappointed. Not fresh at all, and had a sour taste.

Their hours state that they close at 10pm but when we arrived at 9:45, the doors were locked and the two guys behind the counter ran and hid in the back until we pulled out. Not cool. We just wanted some petit fours before we left town.

I purchased a glaze Twist donut and it was awful. It was dry and nasty...it must have been sitting in the case all day cuz it made my stomach hurt. So disappointed!!!

They use recipes from a long gone familiar local institution.

I came in for breakfast with my family on the recommendation of a friend. Nobody finished their meals. I'm not sure they know what salt is here. Totally bland and flavorless. And as a southerner I find it offensive that 'cheese grits' are just unseasoned grits with one slice of American cheese on top. Do not eat anything but the donuts.

Their donuts are delicious, along with the hot chocolate. My favorite thing is probably the kastleburgers though. Overall, a great experience.
